IFG borehole probes are based on a proprietary design that incorporates a downhole micro-processor and high resolution A/D converters. This provides multiple parameter measuring capability for up to 15 sensors with 24-bit resolution on each channel.

The sampling process occurs simultaneously twice every second and provides readings at centimetre intervals when using conventional logging speeds. IFG probes transmit digital data along the borehold logging cable (tested on cable lengths up to 10,000 m).

Digital telemetry greatly increases the information when compared with analog systems, which employ A/D conversion at surface. The IFG surface consoles are fully IBM PC compatible and micro-computer software is available for data acquisition, plotting and interpretation.
